Welcome! Let’s get busy.
1. Turn in your Compound Sentence handout to your substitute teacher as she does a walk-by. Make sure you have named your paper! Turn it in.
2. Do a quick review of your memory lines. Take 2 – 3 minutes to say the lines aloud. We will do a quick check and discussion of the handout when I’m back. You have through next Weds, the 21st to get credit for your recitation.

3. Now, you’ll sign into a computer and sign into our class web blog. Open the school web site here.
Scroll down to Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) and sign in.
Student usernames: First initial of first name, first three initials
of last name and last four of the student number. Example: flas7890
Student passwords: Password1 is the new password for all students.
Take the SRI. Once finished, go back to our website to remind yourself of all of current work
.

4. Get your "Heartbeat" discussion questions. Work carefully on these as you'll be placed in the discussion hot seats in the next class. Answer each question and give evidence from the story that you can DISCUSS to defend your answer in front of the class. Homework!
5. Current Assignments:  1) WORDS, #3 - 5, full research, (use), record of use
                                             Ready for check!

At Dave's house it describes that he tries to convince his parents to get him bigger jackets just because he wants to be bigger and conferrable.
